Colorado Department of Transportation
Working alongside other agencies, local partners and stakeholders, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Transportation Commission is working to increase the number of electric and clean vehicles on the road. In addition, the agency is focused on expanding transportation choice, including public transit, bike, and ebike options. It also has undertaken significant improvements to its modeling and planning practices to ensure the state is properly addressing climate change in the transportation sector.
Office of Innovative Mobility (OIM)
Established in 2019, this office offers grants, develops policy recommendations for emerging transportation technology, works to improve the efficiency of vehicles (critical to enhancing air quality in Colorado), and assists in the planning, development, operation, and integration of transit and rail into the statewide transportation system.
This enterprise is created within the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to support public transit electrification planning efforts, facility upgrades, and fleet motor vehicle replacement, as well as construction and development of electric motor vehicle charging and fueling infrastructure. The bill allows the enterprise to impose a clean transit retail delivery fee to fund its operations, and to issue grants, loans, or rebates to support electrification of public transit.
